From boardrooms to courtrooms - businesses and individuals across the Western Cape choose Gqada & Nyongo for one reason: we win.
Explore our practice areas ↓Both Khanya Gqada and Ade Nyongo begin their LLB degrees at the University of the Western Cape in 2013, graduating together in 2016 - a shared academic journey that would lay the foundation for a formidable partnership.
Ade completes his articles of clerkship at Heyns and Partners Inc., focusing on foreclosure, debt recoveries for financial institutions, and property law and evictions for companies, trusts, and individuals, before being admitted as an Attorney on 6 September 2019. Khanya completes his articles of clerkship at Bisset Boehmke McBlain Attorneys, focusing on family law, curatorship applications, and a general litigation practice, before being admitted on 2 August 2019 - both admitted by Judge President Hlophe at the Western Cape Division of the High Court.
Against the backdrop of a global pandemic - Khanya having been retrenched in June 2020 due to Covid-19 - the two co-found Gqada & Nyongo Attorneys Inc. in the heart of Cape Town CBD. A 100% black-owned firm built on reliance, hard work, and results.
The firm rapidly expands across 10+ practice areas - from Labour and Commercial Law to Criminal, Family, and Estates. Key highlights include successfully assisting PayFast in dispute resolution, the AAAM political party against the MK, and the Government Employee Medical Scheme in debt recovery. The firm also successfully navigated Sports Law by arguing and winning an appeal before the SAFA Appeal Board - a landmark moment in establishing its diverse litigation capability.
The firm enters the public law and procurement space, successfully defending a municipality's assets against a warrant of execution. Khanya obtains his Professional Director and Certified Chairperson designations through the Directors Association in 2025 - cementing the firm's footprint in corporate governance and boardroom advisory.
With a Level 1 BBBEE rating, a 5-star client rating, a growing team including an Office Manager, Legal Secretary, and two Paralegals - and a vision to compete both domestically and internationally - Gqada & Nyongo is on a clear trajectory to become one of the top 5 firms in the Western Cape and South Africa.
